Currently, cotton development in the farms of Vobkent district is stable. The existing 332 farms are currently planting and cultivating the cotton varieties "Bukhara-8", "Bukhara-14" and foreign (Chinese) "Zhuntai" and "Xin Lu Zao-57" on an area of 9,070 hectares.
For the target of more than 38 thousand tons of threshing, it is very important to effectively use every day of spring, to implement cotton agrotechnics in a timely and high-quality manner.
It is worth noting that during the current farming season, "Garden Bukhara Agrocluster" LLC alone is planting and caring for seedlings of the Chinese "Zhuntai-2" variety on 350 hectares in the "Kongirot" region. According to experts, last year this variety yielded up to 70 centners per hectare. It is noteworthy that drip irrigation technology has been introduced in the fields where this variety is planted. This also serves to save resources. In addition, agrotechnical measures are required in cotton fields cultivated based on Chinese experience, compared to local varieties, twice as much.
A regional training and practical seminar was organized at the Garden Bukhara Agrocluster LLC, dedicated to the timely and high-quality implementation of agrotechnical measures in cotton fields being cultivated for the current harvest, as well as the current agrotechnical measures for the Chinese variety "Xin Lu Zao-57".
The demonstration training and practical seminar, which was attended by responsible officials of enterprises and organizations involved in agriculture, deputy district khokims, heads of agroclusters and farms, mechanizers, heads of supply and service entities, was conducted by Amrillo Nazarov, deputy khokim of the region for agricultural and water management issues.
As noted, attention was paid to the urgent agrotechnical measures being carried out in the cotton fields being cultivated for the 2025 harvest in the region, including the agrotechnical requirements for growing the Chinese variety "Xin Lu Zao-57" based on new technologies and experiences, and the ongoing work in this regard. Recommendations were given on the agrotechnology of growing genetically modified foreign and traditional local cotton varieties in a new intensive method with high productivity.
According to some data, currently, seedlings have fully sprouted on the 85 thousand hectares of the total area sown in the fields of the region. Of these, 11,700 hectares, or 14 percent of the field area, are in the 3-4-leaf phase, 37,800 hectares or 44.5 percent of the land is in the 5-6-leaf phase, and 35,500 hectares, or 42 percent of the land is in the 5-6-leaf phase.
Currently, 2,342 cultivator units in the region have been fully utilized, and re-cultivation is being carried out between the cotton rows. Fertilizing the crop with mineral fertilizers, deep loosening, as well as unification and weeding are being continued.
The regional seminar included information and opinions from the deputy head of the agricultural department Askar Javodov, head of the basin department of the “Amu-Bukhara” irrigation system Erkin Fayzullayev, chairman of the regional farmers’ council Khurshid Boltayev, one of the regional agronomists of the Chinese variety “Xin Lu Zao-57” Xi Lin Qiu, and head of the regional branch of “Agrobank” Otabek Akiyev.
